Canterbury

Today we took a little trip two hours south east of London to the pretty town of Canterbury in Kent.

The main reason for visiting Canterbury was to visit Tiny Tim's Tearoom, a '30s style tea house serving traditional afternoon tea!

It was a beautiful little town (and a shopper's paradise!) with loads of tudor style buildings and ancient Roman artifacts.

Our high tea was lovely, but we were so full by the time we got to the cakes we had to force ourselves to eat them!! (We had a big breakfast and also cakes and candy from the picture above!)

Goodnight!

Oxford

Last weekend we took the train to Oxford, home of the oldest University in the English-speaking world!

It was such a pretty town, and the University was just amazing! We loved the little rivers and the punting (though we didn't give it a go - it's supposed to be very hard!) and the old architecture was beautiful!

It was a lovely day, and so sunny we actually got sun burnt!!

Our next little trip will be to Cantebury in Kent - stay tuned for the pictures!

Brighton

We took little day trip out to Brighton back in February, and were completely surprised at how wonderful it was!

We started the day off with a traditional English pub breakfast, then headed straight for the beach and the famous Brighton Pier. We were amazed that there was no sand at all- just pebbles! The pier itself was beautiful - a late 1800's design but with a strange little modern theme park at the end of it!

We then headed back into town and stumbled across the most amazing little area of shops and cafes called 'The Lanes.' We found the best record stores, vintage stores, and even one shop dedicated to selling mod suits! It seemed everywhere we turned we found something more wonderful than the last! The crazy street performers, the huge green parks, the very Indian influenced architecture, the seafood, and so much art!

Definitely a surprise, and definitely one of our favourite little discoveries so far!!

London snow!

It's been forever since I've posted - our amazing holiday has officially ended, and we're now living in London!

We've been here three months already- the photos above were taken in February when we were hit with the most snow this place has seen in 16 years!

Thankfully it's Spring now, and the weather seems to be warming up a little. It's certainly no Australian Spring, but all the tulips and daffodils are making up for that!

We're not sure how long we'll stay here for, but while we're in this pretty country we will be sure to take lots of trips out of the city! Stay tuned for the photos!
