New York, New York!

We're in New York City, along with millions of other people who are here to celebrate New Year's Eve! We've never seen a busier place before- it is just madness!!

Today we met Mum and Boyce and went for a walk to pretty Central Park. Tomorrow we're going to pick up our Marriage License, then exploring downtown!

Still in North Carolina

We're having a great time in North Carolina relaxing and catching up with Boyce's family!

We went bowling yesterday, and today we're going to the mall to do some last minute wedding shopping. We're here until Saturday, then leaving for NYC!

Wilmington, North Carolina

We spent yesterday in the pretty town of Wilmington, North Carolina. It's been used as the setting for heaps of movies and TV shows, including Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, and the scary Cape Fear!

We had lunch at a great brewery, and wandered around town admiring all the beautiful houses- again!

On the way there, we stopped at Myrtle Beach - a popular vacation spot in South Carolina (The last photo was taken there). The whole town was full of '70s hotels and about a million mini golf courses and beachwear stores!

We're now in Raleigh, North Carolina - Boyce's hometown! We'll be here for about ten days, then off to NYC!!

Charleston, South Carolina

We're in another incredibly pretty place - Charleston, South Carolina!

It's also a historic town, and was founded in the late 1600's. Downtown is just beautiful, with amazing restored houses, adorable courtyards, art gallerys, restaurants, boutiques, and a gorgeous waterfront.

We spent all day walking in the beautiful sun (25 degrees celcius!) and picking out the houses we'd all buy if we won lotto! The whole second story of the tall building in the photo above belongs to Oprah Winfrey, who comes here for holidays to go walking!

Tomorrow we're leaving for Wilmington, North Carolina - where Dawson's Creek was filmed!

Georgia On My Mind

We've spent the past two days in beautiful Savannah, Georgia. It is the prettiest town ever - sometimes it's hard to believe you're in America and not Europe! It was established in the late 1700s, and this is reflected in the beautiful architecture - and the scary graveyards that date back to that time, also!

We started off the day walking around historic downtown, and then had lunch at TV Chef Paula Deen's famous restaurant, 'The Lady and Sons.' But like most American restaurants in the South, the enormous portions meant that we left feeling ill, rather than satisfied!

We then headed out to Tybee Island, formally known as Savannah Beach. It was gorgeous! We have been so lucky to have the best weather (today was 22 degrees celcius and it's Winter!) so the beach was just beautiful. We even saw Dolphins jumping in the ocean!

Savannah is definitely one of my favourite places so far - the historic homes hidden amongst trees draped in Spanish moss, the pretty riverfront, the summery beach town, and plenty of modern shopping malls! If only I could win the greencard lottery!

Tomorrow we're leaving for Charleston, South Carolina, which is supposed to be gorgeous as well!
