Yesterday we arrived in Paris! And so far we absolutely love it here - so much so we are planning a very extended holiday/move here next year!
Today we started the day off with croissants and home made jam, then spent the next five hours walking - 10kms in fact! Every step of the way was beautiful. It reminds us a lot of London, just with older buildings!
We visited the Eiffel Tower, Hotel des Invalides, the Arc de Triomphe, Avenue des Champs Elysees, and the Louvre. The sad thing was, we walked all the way to the Louvre only to discover it is closed on Tuesdays! Argh!
It was so pretty along Avenue des Champs Elysees - they have little white Christmas cabins along the street being set up, and they look like they will be selling all sorts of winter goodies like hot wine and crepes. Speaking of crepes, I'm eating a Nutella one in one of the photos. Delicious!
Another delicacy I finally sampled today was French macarons! I love these little treats so much, and good thing I'm in France because they are everywhere. Still really expensive here also, but worth every cent! (or, 1.30 Euro!)
Right now we are resting our tired legs - and planning another night of eating cheese and drinking wine for next to nothing.
Au Revoir!
